Bad Bunnies of the North

These bunnies braved the frozen streets yesterday at the Frostbite Footrace. The Bad Bunnies of the North represented by all three rabbit teams took home first place in the costume contest.

Ice Ice Baby

Have you been outside? Ugh! This freeze-thaw cycle has left the city paths good for nothing but skating. There's about two inches of solid ice everywhere. Even with spikes on your paws the running will be sketchy at best. Some of the trails and fields with packed snow are OK but rough and crunchy in places.

There are also a lot of those big brown things on stilts hanging around. They've been eating nothing but twigs all winter so they're kind of slow and cranky. Dude, you seriously need some carbs to help that attitude. Just wait till Spring when you can eat fresh new grass and leaves.

This might be a good week to get your running miles done on a track or treadmill. If you do venture outside then tell us what you put on your paws in our newest poll.

Peeps® Run at the Dome

If you made it to the run then you know how this event got its name. Yup, it was all about the candy. I didn't think we would see the marshmallow goodies this early in the season but Beaker showed up with a whole case.

I went to the Peeps® website and read this fun fact:

"Over 70 million Peeps® chicks lined up beak-to-tail are needed to reach from New York to Los Angeles."

I suspect Beaker might have enough cases stashed in her garage to pull off such a feat.

If Peeps® weren't enough for you then there were all sorts of other goodies including the hand-dipped chocolate covered gummy bears that Peter brought. Gotta' love those quick carbs.

How cold is too cold?

It's never too cold for Snowshoe Hares.

The temp was about -10f when we left the parking lot near Hilltop.

There may have been more dogs than people in our group. Hilltop Ski area was empty. Whasamatter Kids? Too cold to ski?

We could have taken the chairlift to get up here. Hill practice is done for this week.

He tried to say something but the words came out frozen.

Great views all the way to Denali.

So how cold is too cold for you? Let us know in the new poll below.
